What Is PVC Color Change Film?
The classic cast vinyl — budget-friendly, wide color range, and still the volume product in many markets.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) film, also called cast vinyl, is the traditional material for color change wrapping. It has been the industry workhorse for decades.
Key properties
- Budget price — lowest material cost
- Wide color range — most colors and finishes available
- Cast manufacturing — good dimensional stability
- No self-healing — scratches remain visible
Limitations
PVC is stiffer, more prone to yellowing over time, and can leave adhesive residue when removed. On complex curves it is harder to install than TPU.
Market position
PVC remains the volume product for budget wraps, fleet graphics and short-term color changes. Many projects that start with PVC later upgrade to TPU for durability.
