How to Verify Color Change Film Quality Before Ordering
A practical checklist for importers and dealers — what to check in samples and production batches.
When importing from overseas, sample testing is your best protection. Here is what to check.
Physical checks
- Thickness — measure with a micrometer; verify against spec
- Color consistency — compare batch to batch under daylight
- Adhesive strength — test tack and peel on a test panel
- Release liner — should peel smoothly without sticking
- Stretch & recovery — stretch a strip; it should conform without cracking
Performance tests
- Self-healing — scratch, apply heat, check recovery
- Removal — wrap a panel, wait 24h, peel and check residue
- Fade resistance — request UV test data (QUV) if available
Paperwork to request
Ask your supplier for test reports, batch certificates and warranty terms. A factory that documents QC is a factory you can trust for repeat orders.
